Goa the smallest Indian state

Goa is situated in India is the smallest state and is also the fourth smallest when it comes down to population. This state in India is in the South western part of India and it is a region which is known as Konkan and is bound by the state of Maharashtra which is on the north and Karnataka which is on the east and the south and on to the western coast is Arabian Sea.
Goa is known as the richest state with a GDP per capital that is two and a half times of the entire country having the natural places like beaches, sea etc. in every year millions tourists comes to Goa to visit the Goa Travel Tourism. The eleventh finance commission ranked Goa as the best place and also it was ranked for its top quality of life in the country. The capital of Goa is Panaji and the largest city in Goa is Vasco Da Gama.

... ruled by the Buddhist emperor Ashoka of the Magadha. Buddhism came into existence because of the Buddhist monks. In the year 1312, this state was under the governance of Delhi Sultanate. In the year 1370 they were given to Harihara 1 of the Vijayanagara Empire.
In 1469 it was then handed over to the Bahmani Sultans of Gulbara. Once that dynasty came to a full stop this state was given to the Adil Shahis of Bijapur and the capital was known as Velha Goa. In 1510 the Bijapur kings were ruled out by the Portuguese with help from Timayya which has the final settlement which was Velha Goa or even known as old Goa. In 1843 from Velha Goa the capital was shifted to Panjim.
Geography and Climate of Goa
Goa covers an area of 3,702 kms. Goa is mostly a coastal region and is most known as Konkan which goes up to the Western Ghats and it also separates the Deccan plateau. Sonsogor is known to be the highest point and has an altitude of 1167 meters and has a coastline of 101 kms. Goa has its main rivers and they are Mandovi, the Terekhol, the Zuari, Sal and Chapora River.
There is a harbor that is the Mormugao harbor which is in the mouth of the river Zuari and is known to be the best natural harbor in south Asia. The lifelines of Goa would go to the Zuari and Mandovi as their tributaries drain almost 69% of the area. There is also a literacy level of 82%.
