Beautiful Lake Havasu, Arizona can be found behind the Parker Dam along the Colorado River. Lake Havasu itself is located on the border between the states of California and Arizona. The size of the lake is 648,000 acres. The dam was built between 1934 and 1938.

Lake Havasu was primarily built to pump water into two aqueducts, but it has since become a popular recreational lake as well. In 1962 when it was discovered that heavy traffic was sinking the bridge it was sold at auction to Robert McCullock who founded Lake Havasu. The bridge was then moved to the lake and reassembled. The bridge now connects the city on the shore of the lake to a island that features a resort, restaurants and a beautiful golf course.
