A spare bedroom is a nice thing to have and it is important to make sure it looks nice and will appeal to anyone who wants to stay overnight for some reason. However it must also be a functional room so it makes sense to choose a nice bed to go in there to start with. This is the most important thing to do and once you have this as the centrepiece you can think about how to furnish the rest of the room.

Small double leather beds are a nice option to consider. Leather is easy to maintain and polish to a shine, and you can be sure it will last for a long time as well. You can also get leather in various different colours, so whatever colour scheme you have in mind you can easily enjoy basing it around one of the small double leather beds you find in the shops. Leather look beds are another possibility, but of course these will not be proper leather.

The other types of beds you can get are small double wooden beds. ...
... Wooden ones are generally easy to put together and you simply buy them in flat packed format. You just have to put the frame together and then add the slats at the last minute. Once you have added a mattress you will have a nice bed to welcome anyone you know who wants to stay over for the night.

Of course choosing a new bed will depend largely on what kind of budget you have available. For example you have to decide whether you want to get a very plain and simple bed or something a little more ornate. Small double wooden beds can be bought very cheaply so it is worth thinking about whether these are the best beds to get. Leather will be more expensive even if you get a bed on the cheaper end of the scale.

As you can see there is a lot to think about here, but you should bear in mind the frequency with which people will be staying. If you will have one or more people staying on a regular basis you should get a better quality bed if you can. If not you may find it doesn’t last as long as a more expensive model. Test them out and take a look at them for real if you can. This will give you a better idea of whether you have found the right bed for your needs. The more you know the easier it will be to make the right selection and get it into place in your spare room.

The right bed is certainly very welcoming though, so make sure you choose well.
