What Is Acne And How To Treat It
There are many ways to define what acne really is by describing the physical characteristics of skin suffers of such condition. In a nutshell, acne is a very common skin disease which is directly related to the pores and sebaceous glands, the characteristics associated with it are skin redness and inflammation.
The social consequences of having acne can be overwhelming especially for teenagers who may also suffer from depression and may feel inadequate around other people. Even though this condition is mostly seen between teenagers they can also extend all the way through adulthood which may affect a person's personal and professional life.
Treating the problem as soon as it appears can be your winning card when it comes to fighting this skin disease but, not everyone knows how to properly, the first reaction to a visible pimple is to try to squeeze it in order to expel the bacteria which is building up inside, while this quick reasoning might be logic it actually makes things worse because the sebum is pushed deeper within the skin which tends to trigger even worse flareups.
There are many products use ...
... in order to treat acne, some of them are:
-- Topical Antibiotics:
These are externally applied and are meant to kill bacteria that may be harbored within the skin follicles, but there is one of the main reasons why inflammations occur so eliminating and this factor will help decrease the amount of bumps or pimples that are created by them.
-- Hormonal Treatments:
These are procedures aimed at adult women, it has been noticed that reducing the androgenic hormone levels can have a positive effect when it comes to fighting acne, a product which can help achieve this effect is called Diane 35 or Dianette, while Diane 35 is available in the US a newer oral contraceptive which contains progestin drospirenone is able to provide the same effects of Diane 35 but without the side effects.
-- Oral Antibiotics:
These products are normally very heavy in tetracycline antibiotics that are meant to reduce "P. acnes" bacteria as well as excessive oil secretion and to control a normal cell behavior however, this form of treatment is becoming less and less effective because resistant "P. acnes" are becoming more common.
There are several other ways to treat acne by applying products such as: topical bactericidals, topical retinoids, oral retinoids and even resorting to phototherapy which includes photodynamic therapy and laser treatment.
