The industries mainly are agriculture, textile or mineral based. It is the second largest producer of polyester fiber in India. Bhilwara is the largest city in the production of suitings and export.Kota houses many prominent chemical and engineering companies.
Rajasthan is famous for mining and quarrying and the Taj Mahal's white marble was mined from a town of Rajasthan called Makrana. It is the second largest in cement production. Stone mining is also famous. Sandstone from Jodhpur is used in important buildings, monuments and even in residential buildings. The stone is called Chittar Patthar.
Education in Rajasthan
It has more than two hundred and fifty colleges, fifty five thousand primary schools, seven thousand four hundred secondary schools and nine universities.
