Wind is something that cannot be seen, but we can feel it well nonetheless. We will not be able to survive without the air or wind. With the latest advent of the technology and science as a subject, now we are able to convert different energies to another with the help of certain techniques. It is also become very easier to convert one source of energy to another with the help of power. Wind power is considered to be one such power source that can convert energy to another.

The wind power energy can be considered as one of the renewable energy sources that are also practically possible. And the best thing about the wind power is that it is easily available to the average people as well. The wind power energy is usually used for generating the electricity. Although a few people make use of such power for completing their daily utilities and work such as taking water out of the well with the help of electrical pulley etc.

The main job of the wind power energy is to convert the kinetic energy into mechanical energy and then finally into the electrical energy with the help of a turbine engine. ...
... As the wind flows in a specific direction, the turbine rotates and generates certain amount of heat which is then again transformed into electrical energy. This entire transformation process is done with the help of the rotor inside the generator that is spinning in the loops of copper wire and the core that is made from iron. This achieves the electromagnetic induction and thus this total energy is finally converted into the functional energy.

When you wish to know about the wind power history, there are no facts known about when the wind power energy was first used by the human society. And the power generated by the wind power was first used around a century ago. The first kind of power that was made from the wind power was used for pumping water and also for grinding of flour.

As per the wind power history, the very first structure of the windmill was discovered in Persia. Later the concept of the windmills caught on with the Europeans and finally by the Americans. In the year 1888, the electricity generating windmill was innovated in Ohio and is considered as a landmark in the wind power history of the world.
