Man Injured In Car Accident Secures Compensation

A man is set to receive car accident compensation in relation to an incident that left him with brain injuries. According to a report on Get Hampshire, Marc Dallaway was a front seat passenger in his friend's car in May 2006 when the driver lost control of the vehicle, hit another car travelling in the opposite direction and overturned. They were heading towards the A323 Fleet Road at the time of the accident.

As a result of the impact, Mr Dallaway, who was 19 at the time, suffered what has been described as a "catastrophic" brain injury and multiple fractures. He still requires 24-hour support and rehabilitative input. However, he is now living in his own house and has regained considerably more function that was initially envisaged.

He subsequently brought legal proceedings, claiming that the driver had been negligent. The defendant admitted liability.

In a new development, the Royal Courts of Justice have approved damages for the 24-year-old and it is believed that the figure awarded runs to seven figures.

... had been made, they remarked: "We are relieved that the case has concluded and that Marc is now in a position to fund the support that he will need for the rest of his life and maximise his independence.

"However, no amount of money will make up for what he has lost out on and the impact of his injuries."

Meanwhile, remarking on Mr Dallaway's ongoing recovery, Mr Dallaway's lawyer said his own determination and the support of his family has been critical in enabling him to make progress.
