Sitges is a beautiful resort along the coast line located at a distance of forty kilometers in the south of Barcelona city in the region of Costa Dorada. There are many attractions for the visitors in the town like museums, beaches, historical old quarter and many popular fiestas. Sitges was once a small port famous for fishing but during the 19th century the town developed the reputation of a holiday resort when many painters and writers got attraction towards Sitges because of its natural beauty and tranquility.

Sitges has two museums which are famous for various reasons; Cau Ferrat Museum is the first one which is located inside an old cottage. This cottage was once under the use of Santiago Rusinol who was a famous artist. Maricel Museum is the other place which is the major attraction for visitors as it contains a great collection of artistic work, statues, furniture and ceramics. This museum is located inside the building of an old hospital which was constructed during the 14th century. Museu Romantic is also located in Sitges and has some very fine collection of dolls and furniture.

... another best and must to visit attraction as this old quarter has many narrow and cobbled roads along with old houses which contain the roofs built of terracotta tiles. An old Church in Baroque style is also located inside the old town and has ancient walls.

There are many beaches in Sitges; seventeen beaches in total and majority of these are located near the centre of the town. Playa de la Ribera is among the popular beaches especially among the youngsters and it is located close to the Sant Bartomeu Church. Most of the private beaches are located in the west of the town and some of them are only used by nudists. Playa de la Fragata, Playa de los Barcos location catalogne and San Sebastian are the best beaches in Sitges as all of these beaches are shallow which makes them suitable for the families with kids.

Sitges celebrates many festivals during the different seasons of the year like Gay Carnival which is the most popular festival in the town. This festival is celebrated at the end of January and start of February and grand parade is the highlight of this festival. Sitges is the best holiday place for the gays as there are number of gay bars, cafes and dance clubs in the town.
