If you are tired of being hit with massive energy bills because you find it difficult to heat your home in an efficient way then you should consider taking measures to rectify the situation. Most of you will have heard of loft insulation and cavity wall insulation which can help to heat you home and keep energy costs low but many of you will not be aware of floor insulation which can also make such a big difference to your home.

If you have hardwood, tiled or stone floors, then you will know just how cold your floors can be in the winter. Stepping on them first thing in the morning can be like walking on a block of ice and this means that you need to constantly keep your home heated to ensure that the floors and the room in general is kept warm. Floor insulation is a simple and cost effective way of improving insulation in the home and it will help to keep your floors warm in winter and cool in summer when they can get very hot.

Floor Insulation

Floor insulation is installed under the floor in order to help regulate the temperature of the floor. It can also help to bring up the temperature of the room as ...
... a whole and it obviously makes walking in the floors a much more comfortable experience than ever before.

Floor insulation is usually installed in a vented space under the floor and usually uses layers of materials such as foils to keep the ground at an even temperature. It will stop moisture from entering the space under the floor and this really does make a huge amount of difference.

The most common material used in floor insulation is fiberglass which is commonly also used in loft and cavity wall insulation, too. Fibreglass is a great choice because not only is it a brilliant insulator but it is also fire resistant, which means that it is a much safer option than many other materials which are used, although Styrofoam, cellulose and wool can also be used.
