The History Of Baccarat

If you have seen or heard about this game or noticed people amusing themselves on different tables at an exclusive casino, then like the other observers you are unaware of its history and its rules. The Baccarat History is quite interesting, but first off it is important to know about the name. The word baccarat is derived from a Latin word "Baccara" which denotes the number "0". The game was first introduced in France and Italy by a renowned Italian gambler named Felix Falguierein. This article will enlighten the readers with the origins of the game and with its 'very basic' rules.
Italians and French, both claim to invent this game however the most of the truth is that this game was created by the Pagans as it is based on their ritual about the young virgin. In this ritual the young blooded virgin was to roll a 9 sided dice which had a number and a face of god on its every side. If she rolled above 7 she was to be promoted to the priestess of the temple. While if the dice showed 6 or 7, she would be banished from every prayer of the temple. The worst numbers of this game were those below 6 as they bound her to drown ...
... herself in the sea.
When people began to play this game in France, it was considered as a game meant for noble people have strong status and good wealth. However the Italians changed this game's rules and claimed it to be one of their own as they named it Chemin de Fer. No matter what the stories and articles tell, the history of baccarat remains mystified due to the contradicting facts and believes. The only common belief is the ritual discussed before.
Some people believe that the game was played with a set of tarot cards whereas others disagree and remain to their simplified logic. Baccarat is one of the oldest casino games as it hailed in the 15th century. In its early period, only the nobles were allowed to play the game however the masses used to enjoy the game in secrecy. As time passed, the government allowed people to play the game, but if they paid an individual tax for it which was then used for the country's socio-economical development. Napoleon had the game banned under his laws which turned it into a controversial subject giving it more limelight.
Soon after the fall of Napoleon, baccarat mushroomed and majority of the casinos featured it. With time the game evolved and took different routes traveling from one place to another. From France and Italy, it moved to the north and crossed the limits to Britain. It gained popularity, because of which it then travelled from the Atlantic to the North America where it didn't gain any fame or reputation. After a long time, in the 1950s it crossed the Atlantic again reaching the southern region. Argentina was the state to accept and promote it to Cuba and Las Vegas. While the history of Baccarat took turns the rules changed so did the name.
Baccarat History is something that every casino goer should be aware of. For more information visiton Online Casino Edition.com.
