If you want to include activities that will interest everybody in your family, you should be thinking about games such as horseback riding, volleyball or hunting. Such games are potentially more interesting that having your kids hike with you along a trail in the woods. Hiking is good; however, you will need to combine it with some form of treasure hunting if you want your kids to show some genuine interest in the activity.

It is also good to emphasize the fact that spending time with your family outdoors is another great way of building strong bonds in the family. This is because being in the woods with nobody but your family and nothing personal to do will force you to start talking to one another. Thus, you can be sure that the communication lines in your family will be improved.

More so, you will need to see to it that the things that could cause distractions for you or your family members on the trip are left behind. You need to make sure that everybody going for the trip has left his or her laptops, mobile phones, MP3 players and the likes in the house. In fact, the only mobile phones permitted are those of you and your spouse and they should be used only when necessary.

Nonetheless, you are free to have your camera with you when going for outdoor recreation activities. The camera is permitted to that you can use it make videos and take pictures on the trip. This ensures that the fun of the day does not end on that day, because you can always watch the video and look at the pictures with your family when you get back to your house.
