Ideas For Adventurous Peru Trips That Make The Best Of Amazing Attactions
Peru trips offer endless adventure, not just in the amazing sights you will see but in the many activities you can take part in too. You can visit some of the most famous attractions in the country while trekking in the mountains. Whether you are on the sierra or in the jungles or on a beach at the coast there will be something exiting for you to do.
The mountain top citadel of Machu Picchu is the most popular attraction for people on Peru trips. This majestic Inca creation can be reached by an original trail and it takes four days of trekking to get there. It is not an easy climb by any means but it is still something most people could manage with a bit of preparation.
Most of these trips will depart from the Cusco which is a more accessible ancient Incan City. You will normally have to spend a bit of time here before attempting the climb to the Machu Picchu to give you time to acclimatize. This is the perfect opportunity to explore some of the other attraction of the area like the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
River rafting is quite popular and this can also be done near Cusco or in the town of Lanhuana ...
... near Lima. One can also find many rapids in other parts of the country too. They range from novice to expert and there should always be the option that you would be most comfortable with.
Many people might go on Peru trips just for the surfing. The coast stretches for thousands of kilometers and the beaches to the north offer good weather all year round. Some beaches are a bit more remote but are very popular with tourists. Manorca is one of the most famous and is popular with younger people as there are many clubs and bars.
If you really want to indulge in adventure sport on Peru trips then the best place to be would the region of Ancash. This is an area of dramatic mountain ranges and some of the tallest peaks in the country rise up abruptly from the green valley floor into snow capped ridges. This makes it the perfect place for all kinds of outdoor activities.
The Huascaran National Park surrounds this peak and there are networks of hiking trails that crisscross the entire region. There are endless lakes and many traditional villages that you will see along your trek. You could even visit one of the oldest architectural sites which is at Chavin de Huantar.
If you prefer your adventure to be a bit more wild you could try dune buggying in the sands of the Ica region. Here you would also be able to spot the animal figures of the Nazca lines from the air. There are of course no Peru trips that are complete without a tour of the jungle. Take a traditional boat up the Amazon River and enjoy the most pristine wild life in all of South America.
