What is NSE ?
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) is a stock exchange located at Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It is the 4th largest stock exchange in the world by market capitalization and largest in India by daily turnover and number of trades, for both equities and derivative trading. The NSE’s key index is the S&P CNX Nifty, known as the NSE NIFTY (National Stock Exchange Fifty), an index of fifty major stocks weighted by market capitalisation.

Nifty is a well diversified 50 stock index accounting for 22 sectors of the economy. It is used for a variety of purposes such as benchmarking fund portfolios, index based derivatives and index funds. Nifty is managed and owned by the India Index Service and Product Ltd (IISL) and also a joint partnership between the NSE and CRISIL. Nifty is designed to help people understand the stock market and the economy.
