Egyptian city of Luxor is famous for its rich history. If you want to satiate your appetite of exploration, plan holidays to Luxor. Vacation in this enchanting city allows you to take a look at the magnificent Egyptian architecture. One of the most important historical structures in the city is the Temple of Isis. It is located 20 kilometers away from the city in Shenhur. No everyone visits this site. However, if you are a real explorer, you should not miss out on visiting the less-visited site.

Walls of the Temple of Isis are built from best quality limestone. Northern side is the oldest part of the temple and it was built by Emperor Augustus. While walking around this part of the temple, you would come across door jambs, central sanctuary and vestibule. Second phase of the construction of the temple was completed during the reign of Emperor Tiberius. This part features a small free standing chapel commemorates child-god Horudja.

While planning Luxor holidays, make sure The Temple of Montu at Medamud is there on the list of attractions. These temples are just eight kilometers from the city. In the past, this ...
... temple was connected to the Temple of Karnak by a canal. According to the experts, the present structure is built on the remains of Middle Kingdom and dynasties existed before them. While entering into the temple, you would come across triple portal. History lovers should not opt for Luxor holidays packages that don’t have Temple of Montu in the sightseeing list.

At the entrance you would also come across kiosks that were built by Ptolemy VIII and Euergetes II. While taking a look at the southern kiosk, you will find reliefs of the god, singers and musicians. As you reach the main part of the structure, ruins of hypostyle hall would come your way. Great East Court is located beyond main part. Other attractions in the temple include a well and a sacred lake. If you want to spend your holidays in Luxor while exploring Temples of Montu, next stop needs to be Tod.

Village of Tod is located around 20 kilometers in south of the city. Refreshing atmosphere at Tod is guaranteed as it is located on the east bank of Nile. As you enter into the temple, you would be walking through a magazine store. The store has features variety of interesting blocks. Largest part of the building is Columned Hall and it was constructed by Ptolemy VIII.
