Let me make a quick guess: you’re a high school senior right before the point where you start studying rigorously for your finals. While being worried about the prep tests and exams just around the corner, you’re having thoughts about the choosing the best suited major and college. Sure, you may be interested in pursuing in one major, but do you know if you can handle it? Aptitude tests may help you find out the fields that you have natural talent for. There’s always an option to study your preferred subject as a minor.
But keep in mind that not all aptitude tests offered on the internet are legitimate. It’s better to take a paid test. Also, remember to opt for a major and minor that goes hand in hand. There’s no point in choosing a minor that has no relevance to your major, that’s not going to be help you in your career.
Mid fall is when you start looking for scholarships and financial aids with the colleges that you’ve picked out. Visit these college campuses at least twice or thrice with your parents. Attend CLEP/AP tests if possible. Before early spring you should have decided upon the college and the major.
After choosing the school, it’s time to make an off-to college checklist. Start looking for housings options. There’s not much to worry in moving to a college out of state to suit your education needs. Sure, it must be a totally strange place with fresh faces and you can’t be sure of the chance that you might actually get a person from your city. But it doesn’t mean that you have to give up on your aspirations because of these temporary insecurities. Besides, there’s nothing like an organized checklist to make your move easier.

It’s better to consult your future roommate before you purchase things that can be shared. For example, you don’t need two microwaves in the house. You can divide the cost of purchase. Once you’re decided about the things you’re going to take with you, the next thing you need to do decide about is the move itself.
