Dubstep Events Of Minneapolis
Electro and dubstep heavy hitters Zeds Dead also made their first U.S. stop in Minneapolis, and second appearance at the Skyway Theatre, while on their North American "Living Dead Tour". Traveling with them was Mat the Alien, and an impressive wall of LED and intelligent lighting.
Drum n bass veterans Reso & Evol Intent christened The Loft in February with live dubstep shows followed up by Nit Grit & 2 Fresh and Emancipator & Little People. Of course February would not be complete without its special Valentines event, Lover's Quarrel, which delivered a night of electro, house, drum n bass, dubstep and breaks. Performances included many local dj's as well as headliners like Danny the Wildchild, DJ SW@T and Terrivita.
For the first weekend in March the Loft saw a great number of people through its doors. College kids and hip-hop fans flocked to see rapper and Duke's All-American Baseball Star Mike Stud. The following night glitch-hop sensation Eprom had a stellar performance with support from locals Loom in Essence, KRL and Green Key.

... of March gets kicked off with the live music of EDM original George Acosta at The Loft at 8pm on Saturday, 3/10. A DJ and producer with more than 20 years of work under his belt, Acosta will be bringing his signature dance stylings to downtown Minneapolis, music that "reaches into your very soul, captures the mind and touches the heart. It can tell a story, take you on an incredible journey and target many different types of emotions." This 18+ show will also feature the music of Noel Sanger, Aleksus Sanchez, Le Brion, Dt3ck, and Teddy Mac.
On Friday, 3/16, The Loft will host as Foreign Beggars show off their blend of rap, grime, and dubstep music in Minneapolis. Out of London and well-known as a genre-pushing group, they have made the most of their collaborations with in-demand, high-profile artists (including Skrillex) and producers to perfect their sound through the last decade.
Leading the late-March events is Ott. On Saturday, 3/24 at 9pm, come check out his great dance and dubstep show at The Loft.
The final weekend of March begins on Thursday, 3/29. UK-born Ozric Tentacles will be at Studio B for a 9pm show. Their time-tested mix of electronic and psychadelic sounds with reggae and dub rythms have helped them become a long-standing pillar of what's become the genre of dubstep music. If you are looking for a great dubstep show in Minneapolis, make sure that Thursday night is open for "The Ozrics"!
March wraps up with a Saturday, 3/31 show with NumberNin6 at 9pm. This up-and-coming act will be a great live dubstep show to finish off the month at The Loft.
