Skateboards are one of my favorite sports that I liked during my school days. However, I lost touch of skateboards after that. When I see few of the school kids, just in their third or fourth grades on their wheels evening, I am tempted to go on them. How many of us would have felt the same way as said. Skateboards are famous throughout the world and it is quite exiting when we try some stunts on our roads. These stunts could be quite hard and other people cannot do some of these. Those are the times that we really enjoy on the rollers. Having so much of excitement, it might be quite interesting when we know how it all started. I was talking to my friend the other day he was actually explaining some of the facts about the origins of skateboard. We have heard about the history about the origins of different kinds of sports. However, I found it interesting when I heard about the history of skateboards.

However, when I discussed the same with my other friends, they said many of the origins about skateboarding are a myth. Although there are many stories people actually do not really found legend using skateboard. However, ...
... we are sure that scooters with vertical bar and handles existed during the 1900’s, skateboards were different street toys. Skateboards could have been used anywhere in the world on the streets, there would have been a founder of these even before the actual founder. However, the first person who came up officially with the concept of skateboard was Roller Derby Skateboard. This happened in America in the year 1959. However, it was only after that that Hobie Alter began to make the street surfer boards. These had a great design and were used as street toys. Early homemade versions of the modern sleek skateboard were clumsy thick two by four boards made many times with metal wheels taken from roller skates and nailed or screwed on to the bottom side of the thick plank.

The skateboards that were manufactured during the early 1960’s were quite different. They were wide, thin with double duty ply boards which were allowed to change directions while riding down the sidewalk. These new skateboard’s wheels were made of clay. However, the wheels wee not that strong and got worn out easily and were not long lasting. Also they did not have a grip on concrete and asphalt surfaces, however, worked better than wheels metal rollers. Initially there were many serious accidents that took place in America. However, the popularity of the new toy soared and also the injuries and accidents. As the accidents increased some of the towns actually banned skateboarding on the streets.
However in 1975’s skateboards came up with new designs by a manufacturer called the ‘Road rider’. This gave birth to a new sport in America. Young people who learned to skate formed teams and became legends of our present times. Hobie Team and Z-Boys are two famous teams are well known. At the same time skateboarding was unofficial in South California. At the same time people used to skate around the pools and this became adventurous for the kids. This style of skateboarding led to the opening of skateboarding parks, which in turn led to more dangerous and serious skater injuries. Almost all the skateboard parks were closed in the early 1908′s due to huge liability costs from skater injuries.
Today, skateboard is and adventurous sport where few countries represent their teams even today to come together and perform in competition. Some of them are interesting to watch on our television powered by Moving Checklists as well.
