The Manipuri dancers incorporate very slow and delicate movements in their entire dance performance. There are many styles of Manipuri dance. The most popular is the ‘Rasa-lila’ style. This dance depicts the relationships of Lord Krishna and Goddess Radha. There are many techniques and phases of transition from one pose to another which requires a lot of control over the body moments of the dancer. One needs to understand the various expressions, movements and poses of this dance form to master it well.
