Hp Dat-160 Backup Tape, A Popular Data Protection System For Growing Businesses
Technology has been growing by leaps and bounds in the last couple of decades. There has been innovation and research and development on a scale never before seen. In old times, monumental discoveries that changed human life and the revolutionized the way we functioned occurred maybe once in a century. Now such game changing discoveries are made every decade and this time span is decreasing before our eyes. Automation, the development of computers and the internet have had a profound impact on our lives. Our lives have become such fast paced since technology has made everyday tasks and chores more efficient and easy.
The depth of integration that technology and specially computers have in our lives is truly amazing and one cannot even think of living in the modern world without a computer or the internet. Alongside computers the development of peripheral devices has also seen much progress and these add-ons have enhanced the proficiency of these machines and considerably made our lives easier. The development of external storage devices has been going side by side with that of computers and the HP DAT-160 backup tape ...
... represents a reliable and low-cost solution to the data storage problem.
The HP DAT-160 or DDS-6 tape is based upon the digital audio tape (DAT) technology. These backup devices look very similar to the old and much used magnetic audio tape recording devices that have seen much use in the 1990s. The DAT technology is used for signal recording and playback. This technology was developed by the tape media giant Sony, and was introduced in 1987. The distinct advantage that DAT devices like the HP DAT-160 backup tape give is that they record in the digital format rather than the analogue format. This gives not only better quality but also allows this backup tape system to record at sampling rates. It may be higher than or equal to the compact discs that are a common storage device used today.
The HP DDS6 media tape system also differs from the older audio cassette tapes in the respect that they can only be recorded or played in a single direction while that is not the case with the older analogue devices. Even so these devices have seen much use over the years. The HP DAT-160 tape can store 160 GBs of data with a read speed of 12 MB/sec. These devices are quite portable which makes them ideal for data storage. The success of these devices has been quite amazing and they are a common used storage device around the world. HP has dominated the market for storage devices with a 76% global share which shows just how popular these backup devices are.
The HP C8011A, DAT-160 tape presents a reliable and durable data storage solution. Having been extensively tested in a wide range of harsh environments, these devices are highly recommended by IT professionals and are an ideal solution for all types of SMBs. This is the reason why HP Hewlett-Packard has millions of loyal and dedicated customers in the business world.
