There are three executive committees namely the Standard Edition, the micro edition and the enterprise edition. The JCP.next has plans to combine all the three executive committees. The JCP committee feels it is high time these expert committees work together. Over time this committee is also planning to track all the initial Java license agreements.

He has also clearly stated that it is high time major changes were made now that they have got the approval for the Java SE 8 and Java SE 7.
There has always been a constant complaint on the JCP that it has never been transparent and that it is dominated too much by the vendor. The first vendor of Java was Sun Micro Systems. This Sun Micro Systems was obtained by the Oracle in 2010. Now the vendor of Java is Oracle.
On top of all this there has been a constant disagreement with the Apache Software Foundation. The dispute is over the terms of license for Apache Harmony version of Java. Because of this they did not immediately react or respond to the requests of JCP.next.
