Kids Summer And The Outdoors
The British summer is getting longer and longer and spending time outdoors is good for the body and mind. With all the appealing modern technology tying kids into the home it's a difficult job to get them out of the bedroom. Within this article there are a few idea to employ now so that you children will have fun outdoors this summer and for years to come.
Trampolines - An increasingly popular garden activity over the past few years has been trampolining. Trampolines are readily available from websites and department stores but be careful, before you jump in and buy one. You should always consider the safety measures taken by manufactures to ensure your child won't endanger themselves easily. Steps include safety nets around the trampolines perimeter, high quality matting around the springs. A ladder also helps if you have particularly small children as pulling yourself up can be an effort for smaller arms. Although there is this to consider do not be put off purchasing a trampoline for your garden. Trampolines are fantastic low impact exercise for young and old alike and are lots of fun to use. It is wise to supervise ...
... your children on trampolines, manufactures always recommend no more than one at a time on the device itself so be aware of children jumping on before their turn. You may find it best to use a rotor, each child for 10 minutes then a swap. This will give the children a little rest and make sure everyone gets a turn. Trampolines are recommended only for children aged 6 and more.
Playhouses - If you children are still too young for trampolines you may consider buying a garden playhouse. They provide the potential for lot of different games and mean that not only will you children be outdoors but they will be out of the way so you can do what you need! Playhouses are also a great choice for helping your child make friends, it offers a little den for them to meet, play and talk. Wooden playhouses can easily be decorated and customised too you specific child's needs, for example pink for a girls and camo for a boys army base. Plastic playhouses are more suitable for very small children and often have great features such as noise buttons and interactive toys. They are simple to put together but not as suitable when your children are older. Wooden playhouses tend to cost slightly more and they are more difficult to construct (still easy as long as you have some basic DIY knowledge) but offer a much longer shelf life and are more durable.
Go Karts have been a children's favourite for many years; they are simply to operate, relatively safe and great exercise for younger children. Traditional pedal go karts are good for children aged 6 or 7 to around 12 or 13. They are great as a change to a push bike and easier to learn how to ride. The pedal action is a fantastic way to keep fit for anyone and it will help keep your children in shape without them realising.
For younger children you may wish to look into a ride on. Designed for children aged around 2 years and more ride on are often strong plastic vehicles made to resemble colourful childhood favourites such as diggers and fire trucks. They are study and safe and especially designed for younger children with no sharp edges or exposed parts. They tend to be manufactured by well known companies such as Tridius and Little Tikes so you can be sure the product you buy is well designed and safe.
Garden Games - There are many ‘garden games' out there to discover as well. These include giant board games such as chess, draughts, Jenga and Twister as well as more traditional activities such as badminton, croquet and lawn bowls. These games are a fantastic way to bind with the family and help build a relationship with your child as well as get them out of the house. They are easy to supervise and relatively safe and can be enjoyed by children of all ages. Other games that would work fine outside are table football and table tennis. These are generally more suitable for elder children and teens but will work fine as a distraction for a growing child. Garden game prices can widely vary depending on exactly what you are buying but make sure you shop around and find the best deal possible, do bare in mind however that you want the product to last, at the end of the day you always get what you pay for.
Hopefully this summery will give you what you need to go and find something that will occupy your children outdoors this spring, if you need to view some more details or find a great place to shop then visit the our website at www.kidsgosmart.com
