Selecting The Appropriate Music For Your Clientele
At restaurants or bars ambiance is an essential part of drawing in paying customers who will buy the drinks and party all night and tell their friends about it. All of these establishments dream of becoming THE place to be and once they achieve that they then have to do everything they can to keep their status.
As one knows these places are the most difficult to keep going. Over half the restaurants that open up close down within a few years. Bars may have a better chance but to really do well they have to draw regular clientele as well as gaining a reputation for having a "good vibe".
This is even more true of nightclubs. The nightclub owner needs to do many things to get his place packed. And the more packed it is the more likely it is that people will want to come and a queue will develop. Nothing breeds success in this business more than a long queue of would-be clubbers trying to get in.
There are many aspects to this "ambiance"; location, lighting, the sound quality, the price and accessibility of the drinks, control of the drug traffickers, space on the dance floor these for nightclubs, service and ...
... quality of cuisine, if a restaurant, service if a bar and so on. But one of the crucial aspects of all of these is the music played.
In previous lives establishments like these used to have to buy all sorts of licenses for the various bits of music they played, Disc Jockeys themselves gained massive reputations based on their own collection of music and how they presented it.
And then came the age of electronics. Music became digitized and entire music collections ended up as a series of "1"s and "0"s on a computer's hard drive. And this is pretty the current state of play. The quality is better and doesn't deteriorate and the sound delivery depends on the amplifier and speakers.
So nowadays a restaurant or a bar can select the music they want and the collection will be loaded onto a hard disc and supplied, along with the appropriate sound system. Jukebox and Karaoke Software are supplied and updated according to a service agreement.
SO a restaurant owner might like a classical ambiance and elect to have unobtrusive background music playing selections from the top 100 classical hits, whereas a Bar owner will have karaoke evenings a few nights a week and on the other nights will play Golden Oldies, then on another night play all time greats, and on another play hip hop.
This can very easily be done With a Karaoke machine which includes the karaoke software as well as the jukebox software which plays on the same machine and may or may not screen the videos as well depending on the time of the evening.
All businesses that depend on a fickle and very moveable clientele will confirm that striking the right note with the music is essential, and once you have got that note and the clients start arriving make sure you track the music that is bringing them in and get the jukebox software that is continually updated.
