Dogs Chracteristics And Temperament That Varies With Each Breed
Dogs have always fascinated me; they are the most loyal animals in all the pets. It is interesting to note that temperaments and characteristics changes with different breed of dogs. Breeding of dogs has been happening for thousands of years, at times with the same breed and at times with different lines. Today, there are so many breeds and types of dogs because of this process. Breeds are usually hugely divided as hunting dogs, working dogs and companion dogs. Their breeds are classified according to their functional type. There are so many programs on special television channels which can be got through various television deals like the Verizon FiOS Deals and information available on the internet that gives us a lot of knowledge on the different breeds of dogs.
The Chihuahuas are popular among many households. Their origin is from Mexico and is named after the Mexican city Chihuahua. This breed they are companion dogs who look like toy dogs! A highlight feature of a Chihuahua is the small almost apple-shaped head, a short muzzle with a defined stop and the large round shaped eyes. They are lively and adventurous dogs ...
... who extremely enjoy human attention. The temperament of the owner will reflect on a Chihuahua as they tend to pay close attention to what their owner does. They are prone to epilepsy and seizures and close medical attention are required for dental care and during birthing.
Bulldog is one of the toughest looking dogs, but they are not as mean as they look. They are known for their intelligence, protective nature and for being athlete. They are a sturdy and muscular breed that is known for their toughness. They can be trainable, dutiful and loving if humane methods are used and can become quite aggressive when they trained by force. They have to be trained from their puppy stage to make them domestic and they absorb things quite easily as the Bull dogs are known for their intelligence.
The Alsatians are a large breed of domestic dogs. This breed was developed as large companion dogs making it one of the few large dogs bred for this purpose. They come down the lines of German Shepherd, English Mastiff, etc. these dogs don’t prefer the physical demands of common dog endeavors and lean towards more gentle work like therapy. They are calm dogs and unlike other dogs they don’t initiate play unless encouraged. They love human attention and are friendly but remain a little aloof with children and other pets at times.
Cocker Spaniels are breeds that come under sporting dogs. They come under the category of spaniels; the breed is the smallest of the sporting type and has a distinctive head and coat which makes it to stand apart from the other breeds. It has an average intelligence and not the best option for a working dog. They often suffer from health ailments which are mostly related to heart, ears and eyes. If the dog is introduced to socializations from an early age, it can have a good rapport with people. Spaniels can easily get stressed when their environment is too loud or when they are treated or handled roughly.
The Labrador is one of the most popular breed of dogs. The labs are athletic and enjoy being outside, they cannot be the best in-home dogs as they need a lot of space for exercising. They enjoy playing of any kind be it play catch and retrieve games or swimming and they are good with people be it small kids or elderly people. The Labradors are huge and a normal lab weighs an average of twenty five to forty kilos.
These are some of the most popular dogs. Each is distinctively known not just for their features but also for their intelligence, temperaments and working ability.
