Collecting LP records and turntables has become steadily more popular in the last number of years. Vinyl albums are being bought and sold by more consumers than ever before. It’s easier than ever to find vinyl albums on sites like Ebay, at record stores and thrift shops, and at record conventions and estate sales. Hundreds of sites sell vinyl music exclusively. With today’s digital technology, music has become streamlined, and easier than ever to seek and obtain, but it is nowhere near the same as the nostalgic years of vinyl. Music aficionados everywhere are collecting LP records now for a long list of personal reasons.

Vinyl albums are precious to music collectors for their own personal reasons. For real music aficionados and even music professionals, vinyl is perfect for a better sound quality. The bad binary sound of compressed digital songs makes them of lower quality than records. Aside from sound, vinyl is also a tangible collectible form unlike downloading music off the internet. This gives music collectors a physical ...
... thing from their past that they can hold on to. Sharing music is just as important a factor as the nostalgic aspect. Playing an old Elvis Presley Vinyl with your friends and family can be an exciting and entertaining way to spend days together. Digital formats don’t create the same music sharing memories that albums can.

Vinyl collecting has now become a big business and creates more than just history and great sound. Every year Ebay sells up to 3 million vinyl LP’s on their site alone. Six vinyl albums on average are sold every minute. The vinyl album industry has clearly not gone away. It is highly possible that on any day a Beatles album or Beatles vinyl records can sell for thousands of dollars. A good amount of cash can still be made on collectible albums by artists. If you find an old Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, or Motown record on sale at a thrift store or at garage sale costs, consider yourself lucky. Also, often highly coveted and worth a lot of cash is the LP cover art. You can have your LP covers framed, as they make great artwork for your home or music office.

If you are a genuine lover of music, collecting vinyl albums may just be the hobby for you. Today, fresh musical bands are releasing albums on vinyl along with other formats. This gives you the selection to listen to new music on records now. Albums are a nice way to hold on to nostalgic feelings while sharing tunes with your friends and family. Your hobby of collecting LP’s can also become quite a worth-while business.
