The Diet That Saved A Life
Why is it that there is more exposure to diets now than ever before, yet the American population is getting fatter and fatter. That is a pretty loaded question. But it is still one I would like answered and I think you would too. One reason is that the pace of life we live at, is out of control. Mom, dad and the kids are all going 90 miles an hour each and everyday trying to squeeze in every activity they can. We all do this for many different reasons.
Working parents operate at this dizzying speed because it takes two people to cover the bills and attempt to get ahead now a days. On top of that, it takes a formidable amount of overtime if a couple wants more than just the basics to get by on now a days. If they have any hope of getting some luxury items for their family, toys and trinkets of any sort, it can't be done in just eight hours. Overtime....Overtime...becomes a must. And that's if they are luck to be paid for their extra work. Some people find themselves working overtime for free, just to hold onto their jobs.
Little Johnny and Mary, both have a full schedule at school. After that, then comes ...
... the extra curricular activities which hopefully will round out their high school transcripts and help them get into the college of their choice. If not, then it's most likely two years at a community college and then off to a four year school.
But what does this have to do with American's health? Everything actually. Because of the hurried schedules, no one takes the time to sit down and eat healthy meals as a family. Well some do, but they are the lucky ones. And those families I dare to say are few and far in between. Very seldom does mom and dad and the kids have schedules that inter-connect. They may cross paths during the day. But meet up and sit down at mealtime, rarely occurs.
Add to that, the onslaught of fast food restaurants and all of their advertising, and it's no wonder why everybody in the family is having to buy bigger clothes. Even for the family that makes it to the food store, shopping habits are out of whack, as many a shopper purchases heat and eat boxed meals. There is a smattering of fresh fruits and vegetables, but I'm willing to bet, that half of what makes it home, spoils and gets thrown out.
Things are going to have to change. And change soon. But one trouble is, once past the lips forever on the hips...or whatever that saying is I've heard. It's a fact that getting the weight off is not an easy proposition. But there comes a time, when there is no choice in the matter. It can become a matter of life and death, as it did for one California man. And that man is me.
Not long ago I was living the life I just described. There was no bigger fast food junkie than me. Well it I wasn't the biggest, I was surely up there near the top. I developed a bad heart sometime ago and as a result my life was in danger. In fact the Dr's gave me three months to live. See, I needed heart surgery to save my life, but I couldn't have it, because of my weight. The heart and lung machine wouldn't keep me alive long enough to complete the surgery.
So they gave me 90 days to lose a significant amount of weight, or no surgery and an ensuing death within months. If not sooner. Thanks to my daughters, I was introduced to a little known diet. That diet saved my life. As a result of my successful medical journey and the affect that the diet had on my success, my story is now in an e-book. The book is free to everyone. In hopes that people who are facing weight problems and health problems as a result, may benefit from my story. It is quite inspirational, given the information that is put forth in the book. Again there is no hidden costs and it's free to download.
It is my sincere hope that it can help everyone who reads it.
