What is Kindle ? Kindle is an e-book reader created by Amazon. Kindle uses wireless connectivity. It can be used to read e-books, newspapers, magazines, blogs, and other digital media, The Kindle can also be used for shopping, downloading, and browsing.
The Kindle hardware devices use E Ink's electronic paper display that shows up to 16 shades of gray, As if like reading on paper.
Software and platforms that can be used in the Amazon Kindle is Microsoft Windows, IOS, BlackBerry, Mac OS X (10.5 or later, Intel processor only), Android, WebOS, and Windows Phone 7.
While the content for the Kindle can be purchased online and downloaded wirelessly in several countries either using a standard Wi-Fi or Amazon's 3G "Whispernet" network.
"Whispernet" can be accessed without a monthly subscription fee or wireless, but for customers outside the USA imposed International roaming charges when sending the magazines and other content.
The customers can synchronize reading progress, bookmarks and other information across hardware Kindle and other mobile devices ...
... using the service "Whispersync".
History of Kindle
Amazon Kindle first generation began releasing on November 19, 2007. Then on February 10, 2009 in Amazon Kindle 2-announce. Amazon Kindle also began releasing International versions on October 7, 2009. Kindle 2 international version has the ability to download new titles in over 100 countries.
In May 2009 announced that the Amazon Kindle DX has been released. The advantages of the Kindle DX is this version has a larger screen than the standard Kindle and support simple PDF files. On January 19, 2010 Amazon Kindle DX version released its International and has been sent in over 100 countries. On July 1, 2010 Amazon Kindle revise it into a Kindle DX "Graphite" which Kindle DX 3rd generation.
On July 28, 2010 Amazon announced a new generation of Kindle 3. Kindle 3 is available in two versions Kindle Wi-Fi and Kindle 3G connectivity with Wi-Fi which is considered as replacement for the Kindle 2.
On 28 September 2011 Amazon announced the newest version. The latest version of the Kindle has five hard keys and a cursor pad but do not have a keyboard. At the same time Amazon is also releasing a touchscreen version of the Kindle. Kindle version of the touchscreen is available in two versions namely the Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi connectivity with 3G.
In addition to the above versions of Amazon also announced an Android-based tablet with a color touch screen.
