Fans want Red Sox tickets, come what may. Red Sox, a professional baseball team based in Boston, Massachusetts are currently the reigning World Champions. The "Red Sox" nicknamed the BoSox are one of the American League's eight charter franchises.

The name ‘Red Sox' refers to the red hose in the team uniform. Their club was founded in Boston in 1901. A member of the Major League and of the American League, the Fenway Park has been the team's ballpark since 1912.

Early History

The Red Sox have an interesting history. Pittsburgh Pirates were their arch rivals in their first World Series in early 1990s. By 1918, the Red Sox won its fifth World Series. Soon after began one of the longest championship droughts in baseball history called the "Curse of the Bambino". This is in reference to the tradeoff of Babe Ruth to the New York Yankees in 1920. Thereafter, the team's fortunes changed only after 2004, when the team won their sixth World Series Championship.

During the 1900s, New York Highlanders were the main rivals of the Red Sox. Through this period, several players helped the newly named Red ...
... Sox recover the game. Fans bought Red Sox tickets and cheered Center fielder Tris Speaker, Duffy, Tris Speaker, Harry Hooper, Joe Wood and Lewis Smokey.

Joseph Lannin, the owner signed Babe Ruth on, who propelled the team to a winning streak of the World Series through 1915-1918. Baby Ruth was like a magnet for baseball lovers who bought Red Sox tickets to watch him play. However, in January 2, 1920, after Babe Ruth was sold to the rival New York Yankees, the "Greatest Rivalry on Earth" began. More sales of players like Schang, Harry Harper, Mike McNally Everett Scott, and Bullet Joe Bush followed leading to Red Sox's poor show in the 1920s and 1930s. From 1925 to 1932, the only bright spot of the team was Earl Webb.

Red Sox, Tom Yawkey And Star Players

It was only after 1933 that the Red Sox saw a change in their bad fortune. Tom Yawkey bought the Red Sox and it was his for the next 70 years. Yawkey brought in Williams, one of the greatest hitters of all time. With Williams, the Red Sox reached the 1946 World Series.

The 1950s was a period of distress for the Red Sox. A decade later, year 1967 gave a fresh lease of life to the team with Yastrzemski and Tony Conigliaro, the youngest player in Major League Baseball to hit his 100th home run. In the 1970s, Fred Lynn won both the American League Rookie of the Year award and the Most Valuable Player award. The 1978 playoff game, against the Yankees was the closest that the Red Sox got to the World Series through the decade.

In the 1980s, the team's fortunes changed again with exceptional performances by Jim Rice, Dwight Evans, Don Baylor, and future Hall of Famer Wade Boggs.
The Red Sox won the AL East for the first time in 11 seasons. Postseason 1988, Joe Morgan took over as GM and the club won 12 games in a row, in what is referred to till date as ‘Morgan Magic'.

During the 1990s period, the Red Sox had some success, but were unable to return to the caliber of a World Series' team. Yet the 1996 season had its individual highlights. Roger Clemens tied his major league record. Tony Armas, Jr. and Carl Pavano were the star players in this period.

Red Sox From Year 2002 Till Date

Year 2002, saw Epstein become the youngest general manager in the history of the Major Leagues. The Red Sox faced the St. Louis Cardinals again in the 2004 World Series and went on to win the game, notching its first World Series in 86 years with some terrific playing. Shortly, Jason Varitek was named the team captain.

Theo Epstein became the General Manager. As the GM, Epstein restocked the team for 2007. He negotiated an agreement with Japanese star pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka and Julio Lugo and brought them into the team. In the 2007 World Series, the Red Sox defeated the Colorado Rockies and captured their second World title in four years.

There is no looking back for the Red Sox now. If you have not managed to get Red Sox tickets, go online and contact a broker to deliver the tickets to your doorstep. Be a part of all that live pumping action with Red Sox tickets.
