Do you know that reading a book is a great pastime? Among the various pastimes that are available to you, reading is one thing that can just enthrall you. That is if you are an active reader.

Many of us must have read books in our life. It could be a novel, biography, comic strip, etc. Come on! There is no person in this entire world who has not read a book and who knows about the Xfinity deals. Reading books at times can be boring, but still it is one of the favorite pastimes of people. It is surprising in this age of advanced technology and scientific growth, reading still survives. Seriously, most of us don’t get the time to spend some quality time with their family, how can you expect them to read books.

Anyway, whatever the reason may be (which still amazes me) our choice of reading has never changed. Though there has been a change in how we read. Many of us still prefer to read romantic, action-packed and mystery novels. It does not mean on how they read, but plaintively in situations. It is a known fact that with the time constrain, it is difficult to read an entire novel in two to three days. Seriously, people take months to read a 300 page novel. It is not that the novel is less interesting and boring, but the original reason is lack of time. We are busy in our day to day life that maximum we are able to read is one chapter of a novel in a day. There are people who are able to read only four to five pages in a day.

This does not mean that the interest of reading among people is diminishing. If it was so, you will never see books of hundred of authors published every month. Unlike other past time, reading invokes the creativity feeling among the people. It gives the choice and view of developing their ideas and thoughts. You can also know the psychological mood and creativity of the author by reading novels.

Nowadays the type of reading novels has been categorized in two ways. The first method of reading is what many of us follow. We read articles as if we are watching a drama or sitcom. It basically means we read a chapter or page in one day. By this method of reading we may take months to finish a single novel.

The basic reason for this kind of reading is the time. We sometimes don’t get the proper time or there pop ups other interesting work that distracts out attention. By this method of reading we don’t get the eternal satisfaction and the urge to read. Sometimes as days and months progress, we may stop reading the book halfway.

The other method of reading is where once we start reading a novel, we will never put it down as soon as we reach the last page. In this type of reading right from the first page of the novel, we get engrossed into the characters, plot and the place. Sometimes we feel we are the central character and imagine ourselves in the crises and situation that appear in the novel. We eagerly read the novel with the great anticipation to know what would happen to us at the end of the novel rather than the character.

In a sense whether the main protagonist of the book is bad or good, we imagine it is us and get absorbed into the book. We may sometimes finish reading the book in a day or two. This kind of reading really gives us a deeper understanding of the book and invokes the ardent reader in us.

Whatever kind of reader you are, if you intend to have an enjoyable and fascinating pastime, try to read any interesting and worthy novels by famous authors.
