Become A Personal Trainer And Help Others Stay Fit
There is a great career as a physical trainer for those who are physically fit and are looking forward to a career that is both challenging and rewarding. In today’s fast moving world there are a large number of people who have realised the benefits of fitness and have turned towards gymnasiums and trainers who can guide them reach their individual goals of fitness. The personal trainer is the sought after person who will be responsible to such clients in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. He/she will also plan out individual exercise programs for these clients on a daily basis. As a personal trainer you have the freedom to work in the client’s home or in a health club or the fitness centre. There are several trainers that also hold sessions for large groups and conduct classes on a regular basis. Before you consider personal trainer training schedules and courses there are some questions that are worth pondering over. These questions deal with your personal qualities and mental makeup. You have to be an extrovert and have a passion for ...
... physical fitness as well as an ability to adjust to different schedules for individual clients.
The entry requirements for personal trainer courses may require a GCSE in Science/Biology but basically all that you need is adequate literacy, sense of discipline and a great drive towards physical fitness as the goal. There are several methods of formal training. These courses can be taken either part or full time. The other aspect is that you have to decide whether you wish to be a circuit trainer or an aerobics instructor. You can also specialise as a children’s exercise specialist or as a trainer for people with special needs such as physiotherapy.
The courses generally operate under the National Qualification Framework (NQF). This is a credit transfer system and has nine levels of learning from the secondary school stage right through higher education. However, level 3 is generally the final stage of any course after which you can apply for personal trainer jobs. The higher levels relate to the medical aspects such as cardiac rehabilitation and exercise post injury or a stroke. Such levels will also enable you to apply for jobs in health related industries.
