... in exchange for a complimentary copy. While that doesn’t mean the review copy was a bribe, it does mean that some people might feel obligated to “return the favor” by giving a better testimonial than they might have otherwise.

Every year, there are countless cases of people getting completely ripped off by shady companies and individuals. Lottery scams, retirement scams, health insurance scams - the list goes on.

Remember not to get swept up in the idea that you can use opportunities run by other companies to sustain yourself forever.

1. Earn capital to put towards your own, permanent business ventures...
2. Learn the essentials of promoting products online...
3. Make the mistakes, learn from them, and gain experience in a low-risk environment...

Again, you should ALWAYS be working toward building your own business...

When you select an offer that’s run by another company, remember that you are still responsible for marketing and advertising.

Some companies will provide different creatives (banner graphics, e-mail swipes, flyers, etc.), but you will always be responsible for properly putting them to use.

As with any marketing and advertising, you should always have a plan and keep things consistent.

You could take this two ways, actually:

If you’ve found a network you’re interest in joining, but still aren’t sure, why not ask around for others’ opinions?

There are already sites established that have been created to help consumers avoid troublesome companies. Here are a few of the popular ones:

3. http://www.consumerreports.org

You can also find forums in your market, by doing a quick Google search or visiting Big-Boards . Most forums are free and allow anyone to join, which means you can sign up to as many as you like and network with many different people in your market.

At the end of the day, common sense is your strongest ally.

As mentioned above, if an offer or opportunity sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

It may be tempting when you see dollar signs in your eyes, but don’t let greed blind you and cause you to make poor decisions!
