Leg swelling is one of the most common problems that most people get as they get older. The problem persists in many people and they find it extremely difficult to walk. However it is common related to the nerves and occurs in neuromuscular patients. Swollen legs are most very hard to be cured and it is really important to control it the first time you get. At times this could be a vicious cycle where through swell the cells get damaged. As this increases the swelling also increases and becomes more problematic. The only time the leg gets to normal is when we lay down. However, the moment we sit or stand the leg starts to swell. You will find the leg accumulating all sorts of colors like red, purple, blue and even gray. We need to be extremely care full when it swells and the pain becomes unbearable by even in case the swelling starts in the morning. In most cases these swelling occur in extreme hot or cold climates it is very hard to warm them up when it is cold.

Most Often leg swelling compares to the heart. We know that the heart pumps blood into different regions of the body and creates high pressure. The arteries ...
... present in the body plays a major role in creating high pressures when the blood gets pumped in and decreases the blood pressure when it pumps the blood further into smaller arteries. In this process, due to the muscle aided activity, an ordinary muscle activity squeezes the veins and pushes the blood along. However the veins have only one way for it to push the blood backward. So when the muscle movement decreases, it becomes difficult for the blood to move back from the legs. Hence the blood pools in the veins and causes them to get distended. Due to this effect the water seeps from the distended veins and causes legs and feet to swell. This could create more weight and lead to more damage of the cells and results in more swelling.

One of the best treatments that can do to prevent this is rest. It is always good to rest on your bed for a number of hours in a day. Leave your foot inclined and don’t fold them often. This is because folding your legs could prevent the blood back from the legs. However, in is advisable that your foot should be inclined only when you lower the backrest. While sitting on a chair ensure that you have a footrest that could reach you perfectly to minimize the pressure. Also, sit in such a way where would not find pressure on your back, knees and thighs. It is always good to take rest for long hours and minimum of eight hours of sleep. Today there are various simple methods that doctors prescribe. Some of the hospitals prescribe some kinds of footwear that can be used to retain the pressure in your body.
However, one thing you should keep in mind is that this slipper does not get a tear on your foot. However for people who are prone to more of these swelling have to take bed rest of more time. For them the doctors prescribe to wear stocking. However, you would require strong hand to wear them with. These could prevent your legs from getting distended. Today there are a lot of facilities to contact your doctor. A doctor is just a phone call away with the facilities like the Home Phone Service we have got. However, some of the doctors fill the prescription with pain killers and so on and it could have side effects.
