The world is fast developing and with the advancement of the technology there are a lot of activities that run between different countries. We find people going abroad for various reasons. People from different parts of the world come together for various reasons. Hence it is necessary for people to have necessary guidelines to bring things in place. The International studies explore the interaction between international and national, global and local, contemporary and historical. Hence this helps in building strengths of the existing international specializations. Today there are a lot of subjects that revolve behind international studies. Lots of institutions are coming up with various programs to cut down the economic issues. Through this it helps us understand the political, social, economic and cultural relationships within the international systems. At the end of the programs the students have to complete their research. There will be a seminar presentation in front of a member of the faculty. Hence international studies major has a number of activities and programs to benefit the institute of international, comparative and area studies.

Considering all these international studies can be either at a macro or a micro level. Today a lot of multinational companies are operating in various countries. Even subjects like the human resource management pertain around the international studies. The human resources as a subject contain both global and local policies that every country follows. Hence if a company is operating in a particular state then, it has to follow the HR guidelines pertaining to that place. While most of the countries like the United States and The United Kingdom follow global policies and do not contain much of local policies, some countries like South Africa prescribe local work instructions for the human resources to follow. If we get deep into the subject, then it would relate to human resources, however, even international studies also concentrate a little bit on these global and local work instructions.


International studies also deal with the modes of interaction between different countries. This could include the foreign policies and the diplomacies laid between different countries. It also relates the significance about foreign societies, cultures and various systems of the government. Most governmental organizations are different from each other. For example there is a vast difference between American and British constitutions. International studies also teach its students about different constitutions and how they are formed and what it consists. Apart from these it also concentrates on the movement of the refugees, immigrants, workers, students, tourists and investors. There are also international organizations like the World Trade Centre and World Health Organization which functions through global and international policies. Bringing in all together would study about the globalization of the world economy. International studies also teach foreign languages which are would be helpful and undertake multitasking. Some of these foreign languages that are taught to many people today are English being the global international language, German, French, Latin and Spanish. All these are required for most of us in the world today.
