As he spoke of understanding, I looked up and saw the rainbow leap with flames of many colors over me. Now that is how we relate to colors in our everyday life. It feels wonderful to watch the colors no matter what their source is. Everybody smiles when they watch colorful flowers. Just close your eyes for a moment and imagine a world without any colors. How would you feel? Doesn’t it sound lifeless and dull? Colors have to power to get you indulged in different moods and mind sets. Did you know that colors have a major impact on people with mental disorders?

All the countries of the world have flags. Usually the colors in the flags symbolize patriotism. In U.S.A, the flag colors are blue, white and red. These three colors are capable of arousing patriotism in Americans. We also associate colors to various festivals. Red and green represent the festival of Christmas. Thanksgiving is one noted occasion where colors such as orange, brown, yellow and red are prominent. During Halloween, black and orange are the primary colors that represent the occasion. People use pastel colors for Easter and on mother’s day colors ...
... such as pink, yellow and red are used in common.

Colors can stir emotions as well. For instance, blue is considered very very conservative where as red is one color that induces the feeling of power and aggression. Warmth of the mind as well as warmth in terms of temperature is represented through colors such as yellow and orange. Colors such as blue, green and black are considered cool. If you feel depressed and low then you would say, “I am feeling blue” when you fume with anger the color that you associate with is red of course. Yellow is associated with the feeling of fear. You go green with ecology.

Native Americans have four colors which they consider to be sacred and the colors are turquoise, white, yellow, and black. These four colors are said to represent four sacred mountains. The Apache nations have their own choice of four colors which they consider to be important. They are green, white, yellow and black. Similarly people of Iowa prioritize four colors namely black, yellow, red and white. They are believed to symbolize the four directions, their flag and also the four different races of mankind. Colors play a major role in therapy. Blue color is capable of reducing respiration and lowering blood pressure thereby creating a calming atmosphere for the patients. Whereas patients who see the color red tend to panic more because they believe that something bad is bound to happen to them when they see the color red. The color green is used to treat people with anxiety and depression because it soothes an emotionally disturbed person. Studies also reveal that violet color relieves people suffering from migraines as well.

Black represents authority and power where as white is meant to symbolize innocence and purity. That is the reason why brides wear white color. But the problem with wearing white colored clothes is that they reveal dirt very clearly. Green refers to nature. It creates a calming and refreshing effect on people. People who play host on television have the habit of sitting in green rooms to relax themselves. People who are on the fashion consultancy field usually ask people to wear blue color to the interviews because blue represents loyalty. The color red increases your heartbeat. It is a color of love and passion. The color yellow captures attention. Did you know that purple symbolizes royalty and luxury? And by the way even though blue is a soothing color, it is never chosen on foods because it is the least appetizing color when it comes to eating. The meaning of colors varies according to places. If you want to move from your old place to a new place, in addition to getting professional help from service providers such as Moving Checklist you also have to know the value of colors at your new destination.
