In today's world efficiency is no longer optional it is usually a must have. And when it comes to your automobile the situation is no different. Being inefficient is a waste of resources that one cannot afford for several reasons. First it is the extra amount of money we need to earn to fund the wastage. Come to think of it as we are working and we realize that all this effort is only going to pay for a needless waste, we may stop working long enough to stop the wastage and only then get back to working again.

And yet we do accept avoidable wastage often in our lives. Sometimes the reason is that we are simply not aware of the wastage. Take for example your car's engine. It generates power by burning fuel. This power is used to drive your car. Well not quite all of it. Some power is used to drive the engine itself. Like the power used to push out the exhaust gases so that the next fuel burning cycle can take place. To the extent this power is necessary it is not a waste. But if the effort required to push out the gases is more than it needs to be then some power is going waste.

Take for example the gathering of ...
... exhaust gases from the several cylinders of the cars engine where combustion takes place sequentially. If they are just pushed together then the build up of back pressure would be more. But if they are gathered together into a single pipe sequentially then the build up of back pressure will be less. This is what aftermarket exhaust headers are able to do. They have varying pipe lengths so that the gases do not all arrive at once when they are being gathered into a single pipe. The bends are specially manufactured so that they do not impede the fluent flow of the gases.

If you want to increase the fuel efficiency of your car still further you can consider other products such as a cold air intake which improves the efficiency by improving the quality of combustion. You can see these products and more at www.ilovebodykits.com.
