If any person spends more than his income, then he has to borrow the extra amount and it could lead him towards debt. Students are gradually falling into a debt trap in order to complete their education. With the increasing cost from admission fees to text books and study materials, students are trying desperately to complete their studies on time. Many students also seek admission in many affiliated courses in order to fulfill their dreams of getting a dream job. In order to complete more than one course at a time, they go for student loans.

The ongoing credit crisis arrived due to the downturn in the economy and a large number of people including the students are receiving the call of the debt collectors. These collectors are a money hungry tribe and they are generally motivated by the creditors with the help of bonus or commission. They can even move further extreme and even try to ignore the FDCP Act. However, poor debtors can hardly tolerate the torture of the collectors in both physical and mental and are trying their best to seek shelter under the protective umbrella of the Federal Debt Collection ...
... Practices act. This act is the only protective shelter before the debtor in order to get rid of those terrible creatures.

As per the rules and regulations bestowed upon the FDCP Act, some of the important points that have proved to be very important to Debt collection are,

To demand a large payment than the law permits
Harassing the Debtor or his near and dear ones in any way
Threatening with dire consequences if a person fails to pay his debt
Making any type of impermissible call to a debtors place of employment
Unable to verify Disputed debts
Disclose any type of debts to third parties
In spite of getting a ‘cease communication notice’ but still contracting a consumer.

With the introduction of the Federal Debt Collection law’s debt collectors are somewhat making a beating retreat. They are unable to continue their job in that heinous way and are trying to take a different approach in order to go for debt collection. However, consumers are increasingly feeling much protected from this federal law and re trying their best to get some credit benefits. This is particularly applicable for the persons, who have some disputed debts hanging on their head and which made them totally confused. The federal authorities are trying their best to help these poor debtor’s in every way possible.
