Sky is one of the biggest companies in the UK, with millions of customers taking advantage of the services they provide every year. While Sky have made their considerable mark in the digital television service, they also offer a number of other services which do not get as much attention, which include the providing of broadband and landlines to households across the UK. Not only has Ofcom recently found that customers with Sky are more satisfied than those with rivals such as TalkTalk, BT and Virgin Media, but Sky were the winners of Best Broadband & TV Provider at the Top10.com Broadband Awards in 2010, indicating their quality as a broadband provider.

You can now get Sky Broadband and Sky Talk bundled together without committing to a television contract in order to save money on your monthly bills. When you join Sky Line Rental, you can receive both unlimited broadband and unlimited free evening and weekend calls to UK landlines. The other deal is Broadband Unlimited, which has a twelve month McAfee trial, an unlimited data allowance every month, which is perfect for those who often download films and music. Both deals offer a free wireless router which Sky is touting as their best ever, as well as free set-up and 24/7 technical support.

If you just want the Sky Talk service, there are two landline options available to you - Talk Freetime and Talk Unlimited. Talk Freetime includes free evening and weekend calls to UK landlines as well as great rates to mobiles and free calls to the Sky support centre, which all add up to provide a better deal than BT. Talk Unlimited is more expensive, but it includes unlimited calls at any time, and call rates to UK mobiles are 20% cheaper than they are on Talk Freetime. It’s easy to transfer your line to Sky if you already have one - if not, Sky will install one for you at a standard price.

Obviously, given that Sky’s main function is as a digital television provider, there are also deals that bundle all three services together, which Sky claim can save customers £200 a year. The deals are more or less the Everyday Lite and Unlimited Broadband deals combined with Sky Line Rental and a Sky+ Box which can be used to record Sky TV programmes and store them so you can watch them when you get a chance.

It should be blindingly obvious by now that there are a wide variety of options for customers who wish to take advantage of the services Sky offers. With landline and broadband separated from or combined with TV depending on what you want, the choice is up to you.
