The dentist provided me enough information about the disorder and briefed me about the possible treatment I need to undergo. I was more than thankful that finally I found a solution to my problem.
Some of the treatment options he suggested to at least alleviate the pain caused by TMJ was a non-surgical therapy which involves anti-inflammatory medications. He also suggested exercise to make muscles stronger and get rid of excessively chewing gums of avoid eating hard foods. Moreover, the dentist suggested me to use a night guard, a plastic mouthpiece to keep the jaw joints in correct position even while sleeping. It would also eliminate any grinding or clenching of teeth during sleep.
After establishing the TMJ dysfunction, the dentist then advised me to undergo corrective dental treatments after a possible harm caused by the issue. He found out that one or two of my teeth were damaged and needed immediate treatments to which I readily agreed. He decided that I needed dental bridges to restore the damage and stabilize my bite. He further told me to use the night guard as often as necessary.
