Next Generation Gmat From 5th June 2012
As per GMAC, the Next Generation GMAT Exam will have a 30 minute Integrated Reasoning Section which will have 12 questions to measure the ability to analyze the data in different formats (graphs and tables) and from different sources. As earlier reported, GMAC is introducing this section in GMAT on the basis of feedback received from several B-Schools to make GMAT more relevant in today’s changed needs. GMAC made a trial run for the new section in July-August 2011. The candidates who took GMAT during this period had to compulsorily attend this research section although the score was not counted in the final score.
There is a larger question in GMAT Test taker’s mind today, whether take the test now or after 5th June 2012. As far as the scoring is concerned, the maximum GMAT Score (800) will remain same and will be based on score in Quantitative and Verbal section only as today. The score for Integrated Reasoning Section will be separately provided as is with AWA Score and will not be part of the total GMAT Score. The score scale for Integrated Reasoning Section is not yet decided. ...
... Currently, the score scale for AWA section is 6.
As per GMAC, the Next Generation GMAT Exam will not be harder than the current one, but yes, it will be different in only one section. It will also not be possible to take the GMAT Test today and the Integrated Reasoning Section later separately. But the Next Generation GMAT Exam will give additional score which may help in differentiating from others and as per management faculty also, the new section is needed to check the suitability of the students for B-Schools.
Ultimately, one should take the test whenever one is ready because the GMAT Preparation is very different from other tests. Apart from the basic preparation, GMAT Test also requires fine tuning with respect to the time.
Snapgmat team is working hard to prepare the material for the new Integrated Reasoning Section. It will we our endeavor to make the best quality material on new section by April 2012. Recently Snapgmat has added Tips (Short Notes) with examples on Quantitative section. This section features all the topics covered in GMAT Test with important rules, formulas and tricks at one place in around 25 pages. This section will definitely help in GMAT Preparation and one will not need to read numerous thick books to understand the topics.
