Nevada is a state with a climate as diverse as its population. In different parts of the state, summer highs can easily reach over 100 degrees, with wintertime lows dipping in the teens and single digits in the winter. With such varying – and even confusing – temperatures, maintaining climate control and comfort is always important.

Las Vegas residents who enjoy working with their hands should consider training for a career in heating and cooling. Careers in HVACR (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration) are in demand and growing, with excellent earning potential and opportunities for growth and advancement in the field.

A Las Vegas Air Conditioning School prepares students for entry level positions in the field of HVAC. The term “air conditioning” is often mistaken as a strictly cooling process. However, conditioning the air involves both cooling and heating for comfort. It is used everywhere from homes to industrial buildings, and involves many different types of machines such as furnaces, chilled water systems and heat pumps. No matter what type of machine is used to condition the air, ...
... they all need to be installed, maintained and repaired as needed by highly trained technicians. HVAC systems are comprised of complex series of motors, ducts, fans and thermostats, and technicians must be highly skilled at working with these components to ensure proper operation and safety.

What Does Training Consist Of?

Training at a Nevada air conditioning program consists of 34 semester credits and is made up of a combination of in-class coursework and hands-on training. Students are required to complete six phases of training, and must demonstrate competence in each phase before progressing to the next. Early courses focus more on lecture and theory, and as students progress through all six phases of training, they are given more opportunities for hands-on work with both new and old models of equipment in order to be prepared for a variety of systems out in the field.

Through a Nevada air conditioning school , students can prepare for the following careers: HVAC Installer, HVAC Service Technician, Refrigeration Installer, Refrigeration Technician, Refrigeration Maintenance, Electronics Technician, Commercial Refrigeration, and Refrigeration Sales.

Prospective students who are interested in a career in heating and cooling should consider training at an institution that is accredited by ACCSC and licensed by the Arizona State Board for Private Post Secondary Education. Coursework is GI Bill eligible and financial aid is available for students who qualify.
