What To Expect For The Much-awaited Pay-per-view - Royal Rumble 2012

Hello guys! Hope all are looking forward to the start of one of the most prestigious pay-per-views in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). I hope you know what I am talking about. Yes, we are days away from the much awaited show to begin - the Royal Rumble. I'm an ardent follower of wrestling right from the mid 90's. Though WWE has not been able to provide the kind of entertainment and excitement that it used to, I would still go on to say that wrestling has not lost its glory. Yes, recently, we have seen glimpses of what we used to see a decade back.

Prior and after the New Year, things have started heating up on the wrestling stage. An appreciable job has been done by the script writers; thanks to the man behind the scenes- Vince McMahon. WWE celebrated the New Year with the return of legendary wrestlers Chris Jericho and Kane. The latter was making his return to the ring after a lay off for six months. It was good to see the Kane that we used to see a decade back. He came in his yesteryear costume and surprised the WWE universe by attacking John Cena straightaway. ... expecting a Mark Henry-Kane clash as a payback to the injury incorporated on Kane by Mark Henry about half a dozen months back. After attacking Cena, Kane surprisingly reveals that Cena's 'Rise above the Hate' slogan ignited the spark to the duel. This has lead to the face-fee between the two in the Royal Rumble. Chris Jericho, the comeback man is yet to reveal the reason for his return and his future plans in the wrestling industry.

The 30 man battle royal challenge is one of the most anticipated matches in the Royal Rumble. Last time, it was a 40 man battle royal in which Alberto Del Rio walked with the glories. I feel that Royal Rumble 2012 is going to be more exciting than the previous version. Every year, we see the retired legendary wrestlers making a surprise come back to the ring in the Battle royal match. This time too, fans can expect a few yesteryear stars to play a cameo in the big event. Who knows? The Undertaker might well make his return after a one year absence. Wrestlemania is coming up and the Undertaker is close to making his return. However, considering the early feud between the Phenom and Kane, I would the Kane-Cena match interrupted by the Undertaker. Who doesn't want to see the Undertaker put the hell's gate on his storyline brother and arch rival Kane.

The WWE championship is one match that WWE fans need to look out for. It will feature the WWE champion CM Punk defending the title against the rising superstar Dolph Ziggler who has been rising on the ranks ever since winning the US championship title several months back. However, the most surprising thing about the match is that WWE General manager John Laurinaitis will don the black and white jersey in the match. This could be interesting to see; particularly because of the fact that John doesn't like CM Punk one bit. Furthermore, CM Punk has insulted and disrespected John several times; so the latter might be ready with his tricky plans.

The storyline of the world heavyweight championship is equally exciting. This time, it's going to be a triple threat match featuring the world's strongest man Mark Henry, the world's largest athlete the Big Show, and the champion Daniel Bryant. Who can forget the embarrassment that the Big Show suffered when the title that he won after nine years quickly changed hands to Daniel Bryant within a few minutes?
