Continuous distillation came about in later years. According to the 2009 Scotch whisky regulations, single malt Scotch whisky must be made using only pot sills.
Scottish whisky is produced retaining the taste, aroma and the colour of the natural ingredients used. It has no other substances added except water and caramel colouring and the fermentation is done only by adding yeast.
