The Increasing Popularity Of Ibc Containers
Since ages, we have being seeing plastic or steel drums being used for storing everything, but today these containers have replaced with advanced ibc containers quickly. There are numerous reasons why these containers are beneficial to steel and plastic drums. These reasons include reduced labor costs, decreased overall packaging costs, fewer general expenses, and lesser product loss.
The most advanced IBC containers offer industry revolutionary designs and capacities that enhance efficiency for handling, storage, and logistics. These containers are strong, and have capacity to be used for liquid or solid uses, and provide major cost and environmental savings. A good manufacturing company always strives towards meeting stringent quality control measures to ensure their application to a large numbers of industries including food, and chemicals.
Today, a large number of manufacturers and transporters are switching to IBCs due to their strong reputation as a cleaner and greener alternative. This is because IBCs are revertible and completely drainable. Moreover, they produce less waste through the removal of ...
... pallet and drum disposal and the lack of product wastage.
The IBC containers are also easier to fill as compared to drums which mean energy savings and reduced operational costs. A good environmental thing about these containers is that fewer IBCs can carry the same volume of product as a larger numbers of drums, thereby reducing freight costs and fuel consumption.
Majorly Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) are used for transporting and storing combustible liquids. They are manufactured of ‘composite’ layers of various layers – generally an inner layer, usually of polyethylene, and an outer layer of steel. 'Intermediate Bulk Container' refers to a container that has a capacity of 60 to 793 gallons. Most common composite IBCs consist of a 275 gallon plastic bottle which is surrounded by steel tube grids with an integral pallet.
While purchasing or renting IBC containers, you need to take a careful look at the size and the number of IBCs you should acquire. This is why because this reading throws a direct impact on the number of trucks needed to transport your material. Here is the basic rule of thumb for 350-gallon IBCs: about one tote per linear trailer foot. So 48 containers fit in a 48' trailer; 52 in a 53' trailer. For 550-gallon tanks, the ratio is about 2:1, so a 48' trailer can accommodate about 24 IBCs, and a 53' foot trailer, 26.
