In our minds, we are always performing a strange comparison test. Yes, it goes on when we are walking on the road, it continues when we are meeting new people and it does not stop when we are talking or listening to others. Are you wondering what is this strange comparison test that goes on in our minds? You do not have to think too much or may be you will have to think about it. It is the comparison of fat or thin. Yes, we are always, consciously or unconsciously, comparing each other and ourselves on the parameters of either being fat or being thin.
There is no end to this mental battle that goes on in our mind and if we look at the growing popularity of apparel ads and ads of actors and models promoting health food, we will not doubt that we all are indeed indulging in this mental comparison. While, a majority of us manage to keep this mental comparison restricted to our minds, there are a few who constantly fight with their brains. These are the people who are indeed obese and to an extent that their lifestyle and health are under potential threat. These people constantly fight with themselves in order to make themselves ...
... believe that they can lose the extra weight by following crash diet plans and exercising, however, their plans do not fructify.
For such people, medical science has the answers to all their miseries. Bariatric surgery is the technical nomenclature given to the different types of weight loss surgeries in India that are performed by special bariatric surgeon. This is performed on people who are overweight by about 45kgs more than their ideal weight. Bariatric surgeries can be performed in two ways, one is the traditional form of bariatric surgery and the other is laparoscopic form of bariatric surgery. While, both the options are equally beneficial, bariatric surgeon sometimes suggest the laparoscopic form of surgery as the cosmetic output and recovery period in this form of surgery is very short. One can get back to work after three to four days of getting the surgery done.
Amongst the most popular forms of bariatric surgery are laparoscopic gastric banding, gastric bypass surgery, biliopancreatic diversion. While all the procedures are highly effective and proven to trigger rapid weight loss in the patient, laparoscopic gastric banding is the most popular form of treatment. Laparoscopic gastric banding surgery is a simple procedure in which a small band is tied around the opening vault of the stomach. The objective is to reduce the volume of the stomach pouch thereby making the patient get into the habit of eating less. This way the patient loses considerable amount of weight and gets under the healthy weight index.
