With the number of condominiums on the rise, it is no wonder that more and more people are taking an interest in purchasing one for themselves, particularly in areas such as Mississauga, where condo living is both more convenient and more affordable than other types of residential realty. For people who have not been in the real estate market for a while, buying a condo might seem like a bit of an intimidating process, one far removed from the comfort of buying a single stand alone dwelling.

The reason

Simply put, condominium sales are big business. Think of it; one realtor has the chance to earn dozens of commissions, all within the same building! Urban realtors are fairly eager to get ahead of the market on any new condo developments, because the transactions are almost guaranteed and create profitable commissions.

For that reason, you may come across many web sites and brick and mortar advertising where an individual realtor appears to have the lock on the units in a particular condominium development. This may cause people some anxiety, as they may worry that they can't use their own realtor if they ...
... wish to purchase a condo in certain Mississauga areas.

Fortunately, you don't have to worry about neglecting your own realtor and the trust you have built up over the years if you are looking to buy a condo. While many agents specialize in condos and may even have agreements with condo developers when it comes to selling, buyers also have the right to their own realtor. In this, condo buying is really no different than buying a single family stand alone structure to live in; both buyer and seller (in the case of the condo the developer) are represented by individual agents.

In fact, even the condominium sales office itself may not use the services of just one realtor, and most do not. Instead, they allow several realtors, and often those of a couple different brokerages, to represent them in order to ensure that their units sell off as quickly as possible. So if you are thinking about buying yourself a condo in the Mississauga area, don't worry about your comfort level: using your own realtor to assist in the transaction is an option.
