Stop Child Labour, Stop Child Labor

Sometimes, children below the age limit prescribed by law are hired to work in factories or other such commercial places. It is very necessary to put an end to this practice and stop child labour. This practice is nothing but exploitation of children and many international organizations are against it. It is considered unacceptable in many countries. Hiring children is a very cheap alternative of spending a huge amount on salaries of trained workers. Children are quick learners and very enthusiastic with their work. Hence, the output is still produced but with lesser cost from some business owners point of view.
This negative practice has been being carried out for many years now. But, there has been considerable difference since the time people have understood the importance of education and the fundamental rights of children and also workers. They have actually made a movement towards the cause of stopping child labour. This practice is followed in industries that have labour intensive processes. The output in activities like mining, quarrying and certain agricultural activities requires immense input from labours. ...
... Children are the best option for cutting down the costs of such activities. Apart from this, this practice is also very common in the informal sector.
It is very essential to put a halt to and stop child labor. Children who are hired at such a tender age lose out on their childhood and education. It is impossible to change their mindset once they are adults. This is mere exploitation of their lives. They are forced to jobs that are tedious and tiring. They do not learn anything productive because they are put to assemble certain boxes or parts, etc. Children are also made to sit and polish shoes instead of attending school. Poor families sometimes depend only on the earnings of their children.
This practice is not an issue in any particular country but it is a worldwide problem. Children belonging to financially weak families have to work so that they can do their bit for their families. The first step that needs to be taken in order to stop child labor is that at least primary level education must be given to every child irrespective of the financial background of the family he belongs to. International organizations must be alert and penalize any industry for hiring children as laborers. The trade laws must be regulated. Jobs meant for children in factories must be given only to adult workers. It is very important to curb this practice.
