Detox pads, or health pads as they are sometimes called, are pouches containing a blend of natural ingredients that have been used for centuries in Eastern, primarily Japanese, medicine, such as tourmaline, a mineral that emits negative ions, and different vinegars. You stick them to the bottom of your feet before sleeping and when you wake up in the morning, you will find a discoloration in the detox pads indicating the presence of toxins that have been drawn out of your body while you slept. The concept of foot detox pads are based on reflexology beliefs that the feet have zones that correspond to the different organs of the body. Toxins from these organs can travel down to the feet and be drawn out through the detox pads.

Among the different detoxification systems available out there, the use of foot detox pads is perhaps the simplest and most convenient. They can be used in the comfort of your own home and they can be used without having to set aside a certain time for sessions. Detox pads are generally for use on the soles of your feet, where many nerve endings are, but they can still do their job when applied on ...
... other body parts, especially those that are painful, stiff, or swollen.

Through osmosis, detox pads are able to stimulate the lymphatic system, allowing it to drain itself of toxins, which then seep out of the pores of the skin of the feet. Some are doubtful of the foot detox pads' ability to draw toxins, especially heavy metals, out of the body via the skin pores, but tests had been conducted and they effectively showed that metals such as lead, arsenic, and mercury are present in used foot detox pads. Users themselves had also been tested and those who had had high concentrations of metals in their blood showed an improvement in their blood content after using the detox pads.

Tests may have proven the credibility of detox pads, but their effectiveness is manifested most in the condition of their user afterwards. Those who doubt may very well continue to do so and put the improvement in blood content down to other factors, but they cannot put the fact that many people have tried the product and have been relieved from various maladies down to plain coincidence. The point here is that the suspicious should give foot detox pads a chance before indulging prejudice and dismissing them as a hoax.
