We all have seen how the weight loss craze has affected so many people. The "skinny" trend in Hollywood is motivating everyone to lose weight. But you can't simply lose weight and expect to be healthy. There are things that you need to understand prior to engaging yourself in a weight loss program. Here are some information to help you out:

Are you sure you need to lose weight? Just because your friend is skinnier than you, you should also lose weight. Every individual has his own ideal weight. You should know your ideal weight first, then that's the only time to decide on a weight loss plan.

You should strive to lose fat and not just weight. If you diet and exercise regularly, you may be surprised that your weight may not be decreasing at all or it may even have increased slightly. You may have already lost weight but have gained muscles because of your exercise routine so naturally you may weigh a little heavier.

When you burn fats, it includes your whole body and not just a part of it. You can't lose fats only in your abdomen or thighs. Your entire body will benefit from your fat burning sessions.

As much as possible, lose weight naturally. There are weight loss pills that don't work especially the ones that promise weight loss even without diet and exercise.

Weight loss will not happen overnight so don't be impatient. Learn how to wait.

Trading your fat unhealthy body for a slimmer and healthier body is probably the best decision that you can make. But before you get overwhelmed with all your weight loss plans, go over these weight loss facts to ensure you are not engaging into something you don't understand. After all, weight loss will be more effective if you know what you are doing.
