Skin Tags - How To Remove Skin Tags
How to remove skin tags, is somewhat as easily done as taking a trip to your physician. However before going ahead and doing that, it is important you get all the details of what skin tags are and also what is involved with removing skin tags. Then this will allow you to make an informed choice on how to remove skin tags in a way that suits you best.
Skin tags are innocent lesions that protrude from the skin, and consider it or not but, they are actually more familiar than you maybe thought. These innocuous lesions are actually made from loosely connected collagen fibres. And these fibres are blood vessels surrounded by either a thickened or thinned-out epidermis. One thing to take note on however, is that skin tags are not a kind of skin tumor and also they will not transform into a form of skin cancer. Although in stating that, skin tags are still considered by most skin experts to be a small form of tumour. Skin tags are not a basis of health troubles for most people, and they are most regularly painless.
Even with all the advances in health research, no-one is really sure why skin tags form, and though ...
... innocuous, tags in areas such as the face, neckline, or other obvious areas can be embarrassing. While skin tags do happen in younger people, for some reason skin tags do appear to be more frequent in elder generations. Of course skin tags can be taken off, but although it is probable they will not re-grow, it is extremely possible that new tags will form over the coming years if you are susceptible to them. So how can we remove skin tags?
As you may well presume, people asking for removal of skin tags are very customary for doctors. For the most part a tag can be removed during a regular appointment as the method can be fairly straightforward, by cutting the tag off with scalpel or scissors. Another means that is generally used is to detach the skin tags by freezing them off with liquid nitrogen . As you may have all ready guessed, with these kind of treatments there is a high chance of being left with a scar. Some other options are cryotherapy and ligation with a suture or a copper wire. If you are in the USA it is worth remembering that many insurance companies will not pay out for skin tag removal as they see it more as beauty than medical therapy.
The methods which we have mentioned above work because by cutting off the blood stream by tying the tag, or just by removing them with scissors or a scalpel the tags are gone. Now it is important that these treatments are performed by a physician and not attempted by you, because if the tag bleeds or becomes irritated and does not mend then you are will need further therapy. Routinely this treatment will mean involving a chemical called aluminium chloride or alternatively cauterizing the wound to prevent further bleeding. As you may presume these treatments can hurt and will also leave you with a scar.
