Internet has become a big thing in the world now. Everybody and anybody is coming to the World Wide Web whether through social media or through emails. People coming to the internet world know many things about what goes on within beneath the whole process. It is the people who look over the network or you may simply say the network engineers who know about the protocols which are being used in the process. SMTP is a term used when you deal with networking system. The full form of SMTP is Simple Mail Transfer Protocol. SMTP servers are used as a standard which is being followed by the Internet world for transfer of e-mail or electronic mail across different IP or Internet Protocol Networks. It has become famous nowadays and most of the outgoing e-mail transfers follow this protocol in the Internet. The connection is secured by SSL security level which is a pre-determined level by the Internet world for securing outgoing or incoming e-mail transfers.

There are many e-mail or electronic mail systems that use SMTP protocol standard to send or receive e-mails from their mailing systems. This is a connection oriented ...
... system which is based on text. The user or the mail sender sends and receives data over a channel stream. There is a SMTP client and SMTP servers. The client sends the messages to the server. The server sends the messages back to the client at the other end. The transfer of messages goes on between these two sides through the SMTP servers. The SMTP consists of three sections; one is termed as the MAIL, other the RCPT or the recipient and the third DATA or the data which is being sent through the servers. The MAIL gives the command for the address in which the data will be returned. The RCPT is the command to establish the recipient of the message or the data. There can be three types of command systems. One is the positive that is the mail has been sent. Another is the negative that is the mail has not been sent. And the last is the reject one which says that the mail has been rejected by the mail server. The host can be a SMTP client, or a user or the server itself.

SMTP server are for delivery only. It can be said that the SMTP mail servers is for delivery only. The protocol is not valid for messages which are to be pulled from the server. SMTP servers can only be accessed by people who are authenticated for it.
