We (as customers) come to know about the existence of various brands in the market only through the various advertising mediums. Television Advertising, Radio Advertising, Outdoor Advertising and print advertising-all these are some commonly adopted means of brand promotion. Of late, brand advertising through mobile and internet media has also become one of the in-demand tools. Providing customized brand information through a personalized channel, internet and mobile media provide effective reach and impact on target groups. No matter which medium of advertising is adopted for the promotion campaign, what is important is to provide effective impact on target groups about the advertised brand.

For short term or long term sales/discounts/offers advertising is again the only marketing tool to inform customers and let them avail of the opportunities.

Brands, services, businesses, events etc. all these require an advertising channel to reach out to the target groups. Advertising campaigns generate awareness about the presence of the brand/service/business and assist the brand/service/business owner to increase revenue. So, it can be well summed up that advertising is a form of investment to generate revenue for a brand/service/business.

Advertising forms the basis of marketing. Advertising is also an important marketing tool widely adopted by brand owners, organizations, business owners to popularise their brand or organization’s image and to actively take part in the prevailing competition in the market. A good advertising campaign is an asset for every single organization or business owner to create its positive impression on customers’ mind (to whom the promotion is targeted at). Customers play a primary role in any promotion campaign of a brand or business. Customers decide the fate of every ad campaign- whether it is a hit or not. All in all, advertising helps a brand or business build its image, announce its presence and ultimately drive revenue for the brand or business. In other words, advertising is synonymous to brand building. Hence, brand and business owners adopt various advertising means, measures and methods to build their brand or business.

Advertisers have various choices of media channels to advertise their products or services. According to the nature or requirement of the campaign, the advertiser can select the right media vehicle to launch his promotion campaign. television advertising, radio, print media, outdoor media, mobile & internet media are some commonly adopted tools of advertising. Some advertisers prefer to launch their ad campaigns through a single ad media while some prefer to launch their promotion campaigns through multiple media (as per the promotional requirement of the brand or business).Be it any channel of advertising, what is important is to create the image of the brand, familiarize customers about its utilities or benefits, encourage them to buy or adopt the brand. The advertiser has to present the brand message as something exclusive or something that exactly matches customers’ expectations. Gaining customers’ attention is the first priority of every promotion campaign. Advertisers should hence provide the brand message in an attractive manner.
